Problem during dial up internet connection

When using internet by my dial-up connection, The PC starts sending data automatically without me doing anything and continues to do at a very high rate, so much so that, I am unable to use my dial-up connection for any other useful work. I do not know which virus/worm has infected my PC, I suspect it is sasser. I am using Windows XP Professional.
