How long does Illegal Tranportation of Alcohol Stay on CDL records?

Dear Sir,
Iwas convicted of illegal transportation of alcohol but still have my CDL. I had stopped where I was to unload the next day and bought a six pack of beer. I drank one and went to bed at 8:00 PM. I left the full beers and the empty in my condominium sleeper as I was going home the next day. I unloaded the next morning at 7:00 at Macon Mo. I was stopped by a DOT officer in Quincy IL. at 9:30 AM. I was fired on the spot by my company. My question is: How long does this stay on your record? I have not been able to find a job because Insurance companies won't carry me. I would appreciate any information you can give me.
