Extreme moodiness and rejection

By Sue Heard from Australia on November 20, 2005 in Mens Health Problems

My husband has been having trouble sleeping for quite a number of months. He was prescribed sleeping pills by his doctor but they did not work. He falls asleep but wakes within an hour. He does not snore. He is constantly tired and has no motivation to do anything around the house, leaving it all up to me and I have a major heart problem. He is 45. Recently he has become even more moody and short tempered that I am struggling to manage my feelings toward me. He is not physically violent but can be very nasty and hurtful with how he speaks to me. He even went to the extent of rejecting and making me cancel a surprise party for his recent birthday, leaving me devastated and confused. He says he totally hates parties for him and hates receiving presents from anyone. I would like him to see a counsellor to work out some issues that may be under the surface but he is not open to the idea. His behave is pushing me away and he says he is questionong now whether our marriage will continue. He told me that by planning the party, it was as serious as if I had had an affair. This is all beyond my understanding and I am now crying out desperately for help. Thank you for your time.
