4D Hypercube

If each cube from 2*2*2*2 hypercube, were connected only to those adjacent to it (including the diagonal adjacencies, and only once to each). Could you please tell me the no. of connections in this hypercube. I came up with 26 connections as the answer. If 26 is incorrect please tell me the correct answer.
