home wireless network

By anthony from Caruthersville, MO on January 09, 2006 in Wireless Internet

We recently went wireless in our home. I have the ethernet cable coming in at one end of the house attached to a D-Link AirPlus Xtreme G DI-624 4-Port Wireless Router. I have a laptop in that room hard-wired (some of the time). Since we needed connection at the other end of the house, we ran ethernet cable through the attic to that room for a desktop computer. The wireless signal is very low or non-existant in that room. Now, I have a laptop in that room & would like not to have to have it connected by ethernet cable. I also want to move the desktop to the kitchen which is about halfway between the 2 bedrooms. Can I put another wireless router such as the D-Link above in the other bedroom so that laptop can be moved around? Can I then put a wireless adapter in the desktop for access in the kitchen? (I prefer not to run more ethernet cable!) Will there be any conflicts between the 2 routers?
