Legal Separation or Divorce

My question concerns my sister. Last February her husband told her that he wanted to move out and did not want a divorce. He moved out, they have 2 children a 13 year old and a 3 year old. My sister is staying in their home and paying the mortgage and all bills associated with the home. She is also contining to pay some of the bills for him such as automobile insurance. She knows that he does not want a divorce because he doesn't want to have to pay child support on two children, he does give her a small amount of money each month about $300-$400. He has just lost his job. My sister can not afford an attorney to file for divorce and cannot get any kind of legal assistance because she makes too much money.
What are her options? I understand that Texas does not honor legal separtion. I am afraid that he is just taking advantage of her and she is letting him because she has no other choice. |
