Prescription assistant programs for low income families

My father is about to lose his medical coverage that he has. I am wondering if you might know of any aggencies that might be able to help? He used to be a proffesional driver but when he was diagnosed with severe Sleep Apnia Disorder and the government of Canada took his license away from him and they pensioned him off. My step-mother has to work close by and the company that she has found to at least bring some money into the house, does not have a benifit package. Any information that you might have would be greatly appreciated.
